How can I find the value of antiques?

My father was cleaning his garage and decide what to get rid of them. Found things like old stamps WWII Savings and tins of snuff pipe, with the tax stamp in the box and Original Vintage Mepps French Spinners. I tried to search Google and eBay a bit, but I really have not learned something of how these things are worth. Anyone have any suggestions for sites that could help me? Ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you!
